wedding inspiration [ruffles, tulle & buttercream]

I'm positively smitten with the full, sweeping fabrics and soft details of this sweet South Carolina wedding. There's such an angelic feeling that comes from the fluffy ruffles and dramatic veil, don't you think? So perfect!
...dreaming of basking in that sunshine as well -- we're in the midst of yet another snow storm here in Wisconsin. White Christmas indeed. Head on over to Style Me Pretty to see more details from this wedding, like the strong oak trees, romantic wildflowers and dramatically draped tent. Love, love, love!

jingle on...

Excellent advice in these days leading up to the 25th. Try not to let the chaos get to you. Don't stress about having the perfectly wrapped gift, the most delicious cookie or the best decorated tree. These are the fun extras that are meant to be enjoyed this time of year, but it's not really what the holiday is about! Take some time to focus on Jesus, the "reason for the season," and savor the special times with close friends and family; I know I will! xo.

winter sleeps

I think it's a grand tradition to switch out your bedding for the winter months. It makes the bed feel luxurious and extra cozy when the temperatures drop. These Maple Falls sheets from Anthropologie would be the perfect swap for my baby blue bedding. They scream style and they look Christmas-cozy. Do you swap your sheets in the winter?
I'm cooped up in the house without a car today. I thought I'd pout about it, but I'm thinking it's a nice excuse to be a little bit lazy and a little bit productive around the house. There are still many presents to be wrapped, many cookies to be baked and many movies to be watched. Happy Christmas week -- it's so close I can taste it! xo.

the end

Phew. It's Friday: the end of fall quarter, the end of my internship with Seattle Bride and the end of responsibility as I know it for three whole weeks. I'm breathing a little easier and smiling a little bigger this weekend while I snuggle up and relish in my newfound freedom. What are your weekend plans? I'll be packing for a long getaway to the Midwest and wrapping lots of presents. See you next week!

these boots were made... for me.

I'm just dying for a pair of these Steve Madden Catepult leather boots. Santa, if you're listening, I'm a size 9! I'm off to try a Pure Barre class in Bellevue. Wish me luck -- I'm a little worried that I didn't inherit the graceful-ballerina-Pilates gene, but I'll give it my best shot. Happy Tuesday!
