house hunters [lived-in beauty]

Simply swooning over the casual elegance of this house, featured in the Jan/Feb issue of Lonny Magazine. As we redecorate the majority of our house here in Seattle, I continually check back to these images for inspiration. The rooms provide a fabulous array of subtle prints, soft colors & powerful pieces of statement furniture. And although the house looks perfectly polished, you can sense a comfortable lived-in quality that I always pine for.

things we love

This spread alone is enough to convince me to buy Kate Spade New York's clutch-sized keepsake of inspirations, Things We Love. Gold confetti & pink peonies. Yes, please! It's got me in the perfect-happy-weekend mood, so thank goodness it's Friday!

wedding inspiration [bold color]

Who can't appreciate a rainbow of bright colors on the happiest day of your life? Love the bride's bouquet, love the groom's pants (only a real man!) and love, love, love the bold table linens & decor. And of course, the pretty Billy Ball flowers. So happy!

I'm spending my morning clicking through all the incredible goodness that has recently popped up on the internet -- Rue Mag issue three, Matchbook Mag issue one & The Coveted. It's going to be a long, fabulous morning . . . Happy Thursday!

crazy for coveted

"The Coveted takes you inside the closets of internationally influential cultural forecasters, showing us what culminates in their personal style - one item at a time."
Already obsessing over this new gem of a website. It's the most fabulous fashion fix because it comes from real people's real closets. Like this one, above: Teen Vogue's fashion market editor, Mary Kate Steinmiller's armoire is bursting at the seams with Chanel, Lanvin, Miu Miu & Marc Jacobs. And it's all ours for the admiring. Hooray!

wish list: handmade jewelry

It's amazing what sorts of little treasures you'll find when you spend some quality time browsing the web. This morning, my heart skipped a beat when I stumbled upon Mayfly Designs' custom, handmade jewelery.
All the pieces have that unique, crafty look that's so hard to find in stores. I'm dying for the soft fabrics, brass hardware & mustard yellow flower of the Naomi, and the angelic off-white look from that perfectly-named Grace necklace. The everyday collection continues with pearls, semi-precious stones, organza & gold silk. Yes, please!
I'll certainly be keeping this site bookmarked for very easy future reference. Happy Tuesday! The sun is shining but I'm stuck inside working on some much overdue school work. Hoping for a study break to walk the dogs in the afternoon sun! xo.

bigger isn't always better

I've long been a fan of a beautiful, classic clawfoot tub, and someday I hope to have one of my own. But for now, I think I'll settle for this perfectly tiny, perfectly genius soap dish from Pottery Barn. Such a playful way to add a touch of glamour to any washroom. Love!

wedding inspiration [streets of seattle]

I just couldn't resist sharing this Street Chic photo shoot from the latest issue of Seattle Bride Magazine. I was lucky enough to be a part of this fun day on the streets of downtown Seattle in Occidental Park, and I'm just thrilled with how they turned out! Incredible fashion, playful accessories & darling bouquets by Fleurish. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed creating the spread!
I fell in love with the storyboard right away: it was fresh, fun, 60s-stylish & playfully romantic... Nearly everything I think a wedding should be. Happy weekend, hooray!

spring style preview [the gap]

The tiny taste of sunshine yesterday has me on a springtime frenzy, complete with polka dot dresses & floral bedding. And today, I'm drooling over The Gap's Spring 2011 ready-to-wear, classic looks. Fresh colors & a flawless fit makes The Gap's clothes the perfect option for the coming months. As the days get longer & the blue skies return, dark denim and a crisp white blouse just might be my go-to uniform. Can't wait!

wish list: floral bedding

Maybe it's the fact that the sun is finally shining in Seattle today, but I'm feeling extra cheerful this afternoon! And I'm thinking this faded floral quilt from Toast would be the perfect supplement to my good mood. It's just the perfect mixture of bright yellows, faded blues and a whole lot of comfort. I wouldn't mind crawling in now for an afternoon cat nap . . . Happy Wednesday!

polka-dot perfection

I'm obsessing over this EmersonMade "Dandy Dress" for Spring. It looks comfortable and casual and my heart just melts for the dress-poppy combo . . . it's the perfect flirty touch for the upcoming season. Happy Tuesday!

shades of [red carpet]

I woke up this morning feeling completely inspired by the gorgeous color palette on last night's red carpet -- anyone else? The stars really showed up with a fabulous array of rich jewel tones and soft, muted hues. And sometimes, great fashion like that transcends beautifully to the home. Jade, coral, pewter & blush round out my favorite shades . . .

wedding inspiration [picnic blankets + christmas lights]

We all know my heart melts for the perfect backyard wedding, so it should come as no surprise that I'm going crazy for this Arizona affair shot by Ben Christensen. Rustic wood & simple wildflowers adorned the tables, while patchwork picnic blankets and twinkling Christmas lights set the casually romantic vibe in the backyard. To add to the magic, the bride and groom (Lex & Loren) are cute as can be and so in love!
