style crush [olivia palermo]

I'm not sure how it happened, but Olivia Palermo has slowly shifted from the girl I loved to hate on The City, to the girl whose style I most admire! I've never seen her in a look I didn't love and apparently, her street style morphs beautifully into her gorgeous Tribeca apartment. She most perfectly walks the line between simple & extravagant and I'm loving it, right down to the bright orange vintage Hermes tray. So fun!

east coast real estate

Have you ever sneaked a peek at the New York Times real estate section... just for fun? I sure hope so, because I do all the time. I like to click through the virtual tours & dream of buying a fabulous vacation home on the East coast. And I just love the character of the properties out there.

How fantastic are the wall-to-wall windows on the yellow walk-up on the beach? Or the pop of cobalt blue in an otherwise stark white kitchen? I'm swooning over the exposed brick walls, old fashioned radiator & spiral iron staircase in the last image. It's all so city-dweller chic, and I'm totally digging it. What kind of getaway house would you purchase if money was no issue? I'd combine the three above for a very confusing, but very stylish abode.

Happy Monday! I'm feeling refreshed after two whole days with nothing to do, what about you? Here's to a new, productive & happy week! xo

what deanna wore today

I've long been a fan of outfit-of-the-day fashion blogs, but I've officially found the most charming & creative of them all. Deanna Staffo illustrates herself & her stylish outfits and turns them into these fun prints. Obsessed! If only we could all be half as talented (and stylish!) as Deanna.

What are you up to this weekend? We're hosting a dinner party tonight, complete with miniature cherry pies and a case of fancy wine. #yum!

engagement session [cherry blossoms]

Cherry blossoms equal happiness. And springtime. And I need a little bit of both this weekend, what about you? Plus, this couple is super adorable & completely in love. I certainly wouldn't mind an impromptu weekend picnic, complete with a French baguette, grapes & lots of pretty flowers! Here's hoping. Happy weekend!

shades of [strong neutrals]

Sometimes sticking to the classics works best, especially if you're aiming for comfortable & effortless. Slate grey, all shades of brown, tons of black & white and just a touch of green. This bedroom screams casual-chic, but still manages to pull off some serious style (hello, Louis Vuitton!). It's just the combination I'm dreaming of for this weekend -- a little bit of glamour & a whole lot of relaxation. Happy Friday!

classic twist

Goodness gracious, The Coveteur has done it again. How fantastic is this sneak peek of Hillary Kerr's closet? The Editorial Director of Who What Wear clearly knows how it's done. Nothing too out of the box, but oh-so-stylish nonetheless. An adorable LBD taken to the next level with tiny blue buttons & a leopard print bowtie belt; a functional (& gorgeous) Chole bag; and two identical polka dot dresses from -- score! -- H&M. In need of a little fashion inspiration after Spring-cleaning out your closet? Count on The Coveteur

Time to go shopping! Happy Wednesday, all.

P.S. I made it to 100 followers, hooray! Thanks for all the love & support. Perhaps it's time for a celebratory giveaway soon. Stay tuned!

... I just have to add how much I adore this image. I've always been a sucker for a good breakfast nook -- and bench-style seating is my absolute favorite! Adding fuel to the fire, I'm just drooling over the brass light fixtures & tall black doors. I wouldn't mind eating French Toast with powdered sugar here tomorrow morning... Goodnight, all!

spring forward

I am so dying for Spring right now. Want to know why? I finished college today! And the sun stayed out until nearly 7:30 p.m. in honor of my big day. Now I'm so anxious for fabulous weather I can't even stand it. And what goes better with dreams of nicer days than the happy colors, vibrant patterns & girly touches of these Kate Spade accessories? I'd wear all three of them together with my dark denim shorts & favorite white tee... and I'd be happy as a clam. Kate Spade truly nails the feminine touch!

Now that I'm done with school, I hope to make a swift return to the blogging world & perhaps even show my face at the gym again (maybe!). That extra hour of daylight has me feeling all sorts of motivated to "spring forward" into a happy & productive life this season. Here's hoping it lasts. Cheers!

online "glossies"

There's nothing quite like the moment your favorite magazine comes in the mail. You throw the cell phone bills, the thank-you notes & the Pottery Barn catalogs aside before sinking into the couch with the latest issue. It smells good -- like a pleasant mix of fruity perfume samples and freshly printed ink -- and it feels good in your hands. It's a relaxing and enjoyable process as you flip the pages, dog-ear your favorites and store old issues for future inspiration.

So, imagine my surprise when I fell in love with the fabulous new trend of online magazines. My first thoughts were as follows: "It won't be the same," "I spend enough time on the computer," "No." But I was pleasantly surprised with the interactive process of reading these impressive publications. Are you on board yet? If you've hesitated in fear of giving up one of your most treasured past times, take the leap with a few of my favorites:
     1. High Gloss
     2. Lonny
     3. Matchbook
     4. Rue

The best part? Some of my favorite bloggers edit, write and create the content. So now, I digitally dog-ear my favorite pages (bookmark) and save a whole lot of space at home by letting each publication "store" my old issues right there on their sites. How convenient! And while I still keep one eye on the mailbox for my treasured and tangible magazines, I keep the other eye on Twitter for the links to these newest issues. Welcome to 2011!
